Bonus Day Tag

Welcome to the last day of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags! Well, it was actually yesterday, but I was out at the Black Friday sales, and didn't get my tags finished! I was inspired by these pretty tags, made by Grace.

I used a digital image from Miss Kate Cuttables for my snowmen.

The tags were blended with Gina K. Designs ink. Going from left to right, they are Turquoise Sea, Red Hot, Jelly Bean Green, and Dusty Rose. I coloured the scarves and hat details with matching Spectrum Noir alcohol markers IB2, CR8, CG1, and CR4. I used OR2 for the nose, IG10 for the hat, EB5 for the arms and IG1 for the shadow at the base. I drew on the eyes and mouth with a thin black marker.

The word Joy was cut from gold glitter paper. I glued everything on, punched the holes and added the twine.

Today is the last day of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, so I will add these tags to the gallery.

Now I have all my tags ready for my Christmas gifts!

Day 25 Tag

Today is day 25 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. But Tracey said there will be a bonus day tomorrow!

Today I was inspired by this colourful tag, made by Joyce.

I found a digital file on my computer that was from Miss Kate Cuttables. It only had about 6 lights, so I put some strings together and made a square shape.

I printed it out and coloured in the lights with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers CT3, BP2, IB2, DR1, OR2, HB2, and TB3. The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Merry & Bright stamp set, and was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I just had to punch a hole and add some twine.

I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

I'll be back tomorrow with the bonus day!

Day 24 Tag

I have a new tag for day 24 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I was inspired by Lindsey's tag, shown here.

Today's sponsor is Heffy Doodle. I don't have any of their stamps, but I have their Metric Stitched Rectangle Dies, so I used one of them to cut my tag.

I thought the Plaid FolkArt Swirl Background stencil that I have looked like swirling snow, so I used white pigment ink to sponge through the stencil and make the design. Once that dried, I stamped the sentiment, which came with a magazine and is called Woodland Cottage, with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with sapphire embossing powder. I punched the hole, and added the ribbon.

Alcohol Ink with Glitz Glitter Gel

I decided to make another card for the Splitcoaststampers MISTI Monday Challenge - Double Backgrounds. I hope this qualifies, as it has two techniques for the background.

For the first layer of the background, I sponged three colours of homemade alcohol ink onto a piece of photo paper. Once it was dry, I added Gina K. Designs White Glitz Glitter Gel through the Plaid Folk Art Swirl Background stencil. I didn't cover the whole background, as I wanted more of the alcohol ink to show. I set this aside for a couple of hours to make sure it was completely dry.

The sentiment came from the Gina K. Designs Seasonal Sentiments stamp set. I die cut the word out of turquoise cardstock and covered it with Glossy Accents. Once it was dry, I glued it onto the word outline, which I had die cut from white cardstock.

Using my MISTI, I lined up the word Merry, stamped it with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it in white.

I added the background to a white card base and glued on the Christmas die cut.

Double Background

This month, the Splitcoaststampers MISTI Monday Challenge is to create a background using two textures or techniques. I came up with an idea, but I think it looked better in my head than it does in person!

I debossed the image, using an embossing folder of a church scene, and then added Gina K. Designs Blue Denim ink with a brayer. I coloured in the windows with some yellow Stickles and set it aside to dry.

A few years ago, I made the overlay with my die cutting machine. It's been sitting in my desk and I thought it would work for this card. I inked it up with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with a lilac sparkly embossing powder. I thought it was like looking through a fence or a window with a grid in it.

Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment, from the Gina K. Designs Sentimental Holiday stamp set, in Blue Denim and sponged around the edges.

added the background onto a navy blue card base, and then used some foam squares, cut into tiny pieces, to adhere the overlay. I added the sentiment with some more foam squares.

I hope you can see the scene through the overlay. It does seem to show up better in person.

Day 23 Tag

We're up to day 23 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  Tracey made this lovely tag, with products from today's guests, Jillibean Soup.

Here is the tag I made.

I don't have the Jillibean Soup products, so I used supplies from Gina K. Designs. I sponged the tag with Ocean Mist and Turquoise Sea ink. Then I stamped the snowflake and sentiment, both from the Sparkling Snowflake stamp set, with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them in white. I used the coordinating die to emboss around the snowflake, by using a rubber mat when I ran it through the die cutting machine. This prevents the die from cutting through the cardstock. I added the ribbon and twine to finish the tag.

Day 22 Tag

Welcome to day 22 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. The sponsor today is Birch Press Design and they have some beautiful layering dies. Here is the tag that was made by Kim.

I don't have any of these dies, but I think they are going on my wish list! I used a stamp set and coloured it in.

I used the Gina K. Designs Mandala Maker stamp set with the wreath builder template in my MISTI to make the pattern. I stamped it with Gina K. Designs Whisper Amalgam ink. This ink is really light, so when I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers DR5, AG3, and a Silver Sharpie, it covered up the ink lines. The center of the design was drawn freehand. For the large circle, I placed a circle die around the image and traced around the inside with the marker. Once everything was dry, I covered the ink with Clear Wink of Stella to give it some shine.

The sentiment came from the Gina K. Designs Square Pegs stamp set, and was stamped with  Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I rounded the corners, punched the hole and added the ribbon and twine.

Since this was coloured, I am posting it on the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

Here is another picture showing more of the shine.

Day 21 Tag

Today, I have 4 tags for day 21 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I was inspired by Lindsey, who made these tags.

The sponsor for today is Lawn Fawn, but I don't have any of their products, so I had to use supplies that I have.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the shapes of the tags. I had the files for two of them, and drew the other two shapes. I cut them from white cardstock, and also from some patterned paper that came with  a magazine.

Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiments with Gina K. Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink. They all came from Gina K. Designs stamp sets: Merry and Bright from Merry & Bright, Merry Wishes from
Seasonal Sentiments, with love from Sweet Camellia, and a gift for you from A Gift for You. I used clear embossing powder to make them stand out a bit. They are easier to see in person. I glued the paper onto the cardstock, punched the holes, and added some gold twine.

Day 20 Tag

Today is day 20 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I thought Rosemary's tag was so pretty!

Rosemary used a hot foiling system, which I don't have, but I thought I could get a similar look with a die and gold embossing powder.

I used a die, from the Frosty Christmas die set, by Sara Davies, which came with a magazine. I 'inked up' the die with VersaMark, by lightly tapping the ink on the die. Then I ran it through my die cutting machine with a rubber mat, so the die made an impression in the tag but didn't cut through. I added gold embossing powder and heat set it.

I used the same die, cut it out, heat embossed it in gold and glued it on the tag. I embossed the sentiment, from the Gina K. Designs Christmas Joy stamp set, and added it to the tag with some foam squares. I added the ribbon and twine to finish my tag.

It doesn't look quite as nice as Rosemary's die, but I am pleased with how it turned out. I am looking forward to tomorrow's tags!

Day 19 Tag

Welcome to day 19 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Today, I was inspired by Kim's tag.

Today's sponsor is Paper Smooches, but I don't have any of their products, so I had to find things that I had that were similar.

For the flower, I used Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia dies. The greenery was die cut with the Cottage Cutz Woodland Noel die. I didn't have any patterned paper that looked like woodgrain, so I used the Stampin’ Up! Woodgrain stamp and stamped it with ColorBox Ice Pigment ink. Then I coloured it with Spectrum Noir alcohol marker TB1. The sentiment was taken from Gina K. Designs Merry & Bright stamp set and was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. For the middle of the flower, I didn't have any pompoms, so I used a cotton ball that I squished to make a smaller ball shape. I added the ribbon and twine to finish the tag.

Day 18 Tag

We're up to day 18 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags! Today, I was inspired by Mindy's tag.

Here is my version.

I don't have the stamps that Mindy used, but I used a poinsettia stamp that is similar. It stamps a fairly solid image so I stamped it in gray and then coloured over it with alcohol markers before cutting it out with the coordinating die. I used my MISTI to line up the sentiments for the background and stamped them in white. I added the stitching with a white pen and attached the ribbon.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Fruit of the Season stamp set and coordinating die
                            Seasonal Sentiments stamp sets
                            Moonlit Fog ink
                            Black Gingham 5/8” ribbon

Spectrum Noir alcohol markers DR1, AG3, AG4
MISTI
White Sakura Gelly Roll pen
white pigment ink pad

Day 17 Tag

Today is day 17 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I was inspired by this pretty tag, made by Sharna.

Here is the tag I made.

I started by inking up the tag with Gina K. Designs (GKD) Turquoise Sea ink, getting lighter at the bottom. I added some GKD Tranquil Teal ink at the top to make it a bit darker. I stamped the sentiment, from the GKD Sentiments Holiday stamp set, in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it in silver. I cut out the poinsettia and leaf with the Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia dies, glued them together and added them to the tag.

Today's sponsor is Pretty Pink Posh and I happen to have some of their Starry Sky Mix embellishments. I added a few to the tag before I attached the ribbon and twine.

Day 16 Tag

Aren't these tags by Carol cute? They were my inspiration for day 16 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

Here are my tags.

I don't have a tag die with scalloped edges, so I used a pair of scalloped scissors to cut the edges. The bear, from the Gina K. Designs (GKD) Give Thanks stamp set is holding a pumpkin, so I masked it off when I stamped it with GKD Jet Black Amalgam ink. I cut it out with the coordinating die. I coloured the scarves with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers DR1, DR3, DR5, BT3, BT4, BT5, and BT6 and coloured the nose with True Black.

The heart stamp is from the GKD Square Pegs stamp set. I stamped it with GKD Cherry Red ink and fussy cut it out. I lined the tags with patterned paper, attached the bears and popped up the hearts with foam squares. I added some ribbon and the tags were finished.

Day 15 Tag

Today, the sponsor for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags is Concord & 9th. Kim made this lovely tag with some of their products.

I don't have any of their products, so I had to use what I had to make something similar.

I stamped the stocking and punched it out. Then I stamped the With Love and the holly and punched that out with a 1" circle punch. I made the pull tab by stamping the present, greenery and sentiments, colouring it and then fussy cutting it out. I cut out 2 tags and made a slit in one of them for the pull tab. I taped the two tags together, adhered the stocking and circle greeting, and added the ribbon and twine.

I used the following supplies:
Stampin’ Up! Stitched Stockings stamp set
                       Stocking Builder punch

Gina K. Designs: Christmas Joy, Christmas Greenery, Autumn Wreath Builder, Seasonal Sentiments,                                          A Gift For You stamp sets
                             Red Velvet, Christmas Pine ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Scor-Tape
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers: GB7, CR11, JG4

Day 14 Tag

For day 14 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags, I was inspired by Larissa's tag.

Here's my tag.

I used a snowflake that had adhesive on one side, so it was easy to add the fine glitter. I added the snowflake to a circle and then mounted that on a scalloped circle. After cutting out the tags, I stamped and embossed the sentiment, sponged some ink on the middle and adhered the scalloped circle. I added a snowflake sequin and rhinestone to the snowflake and then some sequins and rhinestones to the tag. I tied the two tags together with a big bow and added a twine bow that is really hard to see in the picture!

These are the supplies I used:
Heffy doodle Metric Stitched Rectangle die
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Embellishment Snowflake

Crystal Glitter Ritz Micro Fine Glitter - Cool Highlight
Gina K. Designs: Merry & Bright stamp set
                            Winter Cheer patterned paper pack
                            Tranquil Teal ink
                            Ocean Mist cardstock
1 3/4” scalloped circle punch
1 1/2” circle punch

Day 13 Tag

We're halfway through the 25 Days of Christmas Tags! My Day 13 tag was inspired by Carol's set of tags.

I found a similar stamp in my stash, so I made these two tags.

The tree stamp is by Jennifer Ellory, which was sold with a magazine. I stamped it with Scarlet and Fresh Green ColorBox ink. The sponsor for today is CAS-ual Fridays, so I used their Noel Fri-Dies for the sentiments. I added the ribbon and they were finished.

I'm looking forward to the second half . I should have enough tags for all my presents by then!

Day 12 Tag

I'm up to day 12 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags! Maria made this beautiful tag:

I have some dies that are similar to the ones she used and made this tag:

I used a blending brush to ink up the background and then added the white dots. I first tried to use some white pigment ink blended with some water, but that disappeared into the cardstock, so I used a gel pen to make the spots. I die cut the manger scene and the sentiment, glued them on to the tag and added the gold and white cord.

I used these supplies:
Scor-Pal Away in a Manger die
CAS-ual Fridays Noel Fri-die
Gina K. Designs ink: Blue Denim, In the Navy, Passionate Pink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Sakura Gelly Roll White pen
