Butterfly Sympathy Card

I had to make a sympathy card this week, and I thought butterflies would be a good addition to the card.

I used the Basket Weave cover plate die with white cardstock, and then wove green and yellow ribbons through the openings. I mounted this onto some Tranquil Teal cardstock and then on a white card base.

The butterflies are from the Birthday Blessings stamp set, stamped with Wild Dandelion and Sweet Corn ink and cut out with the coordinating die.

The sentiment, from the Natural Silhouettes stamp set, is stamped with Jet Black Amalgam ink, attached to a piece of Tranquil Teal cardstock, and popped up with some foam squares.

All of the supplies are from Gina K. Designs, except the ribbon and foam squares.

Blue and Yellow

Today I have a card that I made for two challenges: the Mod Squad Challenge - Standing with Ukraine (we can only use blue and yellow), and the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge - Shaped Border Edge, using dies.

I made the background using the Gina K. Designs (GKD) Harvest Flourish stencil with GKD Blue Raspberry and Blue Denim ink. Then I layered it with some Blue Denim cardstock and added it to a white card base that had the front flap trimmed.

The flowers are from the GKD Fresh Flowers stamp set and are stamped with GKD Wild Dandelion and Sweet Corn ink, and cut out with the coordinating die. I added these along the trimmed edge on the front of the card.

I stamped the sentiment, from the GKD By the Sea stamp set, with Blue Denim ink, and cut it out with a GKD Decorative Tag die. I added it to the card with some foam squares.

March Scor-Pal More Than One Score

Here we are at the beginning of another month, and that means it's time for the Scor-Pal More Than One Score Challenge.

Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc, will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score".

You can follow the theme, or you can make an Anything Goes project as long as it follows the general rules.

This month, I made a card with a box built right in.

To make this project, you will need:
a piece of cardstock measuring 7 3/4" x 11"

Supplies for decorating. I used:
Gina K. Designs: Made With Love patterned paper
Fresh Flowers stamp set and coordinating dies
Faded Brick, Wild Dandelion, Jelly Bean Green, Sweet Mango ink
oval die cut
ribbon

With the short side of your cardstock at the top of your Scor-Pal, score at 1 1/8" and 6 5/8". Turn your paper 90 degrees and score at 1 1/8", 2 1/4", 3 3/8", 4 1/2" and 8 3/8".

Cut from the edge of the cardstock to the score line at the 1 1/8", 2 1/4", 3 3/8", and 4 1/2" marks. Do this on both the top and bottom. I angle the cuts a bit to help me fold down the flaps when assembling the box. Cut off the top and bottom rectangles to the right of the 4 1/2" mark. You will end up with this:

Fold along all the score lines. From the left, fold in the side 4 times to make the box and attach it to the card with Scor-Tape. Fold in the flaps at the bottom and tape them together. Leave the top flaps open.

Decorate as you wish. I added a granola bar treat inside my box and used a ribbon to hold the top down.
