I have another fun fold card this month. It is called a Corner Napkin Fold.
To make this card, you will need:
Cardstock:
Coloured cardstock: 8" x 10" for card base
3 1/2" x 5" for front layer
White heavy weight cardstock: 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" for outside image
5" x 7" for back layer
4 1/2" x 6 1/2" for inside layer
3 1/4" x 4 3/4" for inside sentiment
10 1/2" x 4 3/4" for back easel
Patterned paper: 3" x 3" for outside corner
3" x 3 1/4" for outside bottom left
1 1/4" x 3" for outside top right
3" x 3" for inside corner
Stamps and embellishments to decorate: I used the Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned Petals stamp set for the focal image and the coordinating Designer Series Paper, and Gina K. Designs Square Starters and Beautiful Day stamp sets for the sentiments.
Step 1:
For the card base, with the 8" side at the top, score at 3 1/4" and make a light mark with a pencil at 6 1/2". Rotate the cardstock 1/4 turn to the right, score at 6 3/4", and make another light mark at 3 1/2". Place the two marks along the 6" score line on your Scor-Pal. There is a mark near the bottom of the 6" score line to make it easy to line up. Then score between the two marks. Fold all the score lines and crease them both ways. This makes it easier to fold the card base.
Step 2:
Pull up and in along the diagonal fold. This brings the top down, the side in, and the corner flips inward.
Step 3:
Add Scor-Tape to the back of the card base and attach the 5" x 7" piece of white cardstock. Add the patterned paper to the card base.
Step 4:
Layer the inside piece of white cardstock, the patterned paper and the sentiment piece. Add to the inside of the card base, along with the patterned paper in the corner.
Step 5:
Attach the focal image to the 3 1/2" x 5" layer. Hold the layer up to the folded card to make sure that it covers up the sentiment layer and make note of where it sits on the left corner. Then, add Scor-Tape to the back just in the upper right hand corner and add it to the card base.
Step 6:
To make it easier for the card to stand, you can add an easel to the back. Place the easel piece in your Scor-Pal and score at 4", 8", 9" and 10". Fold in along the 4" score line, making a mountain fold, then make another mountain fold at 8", a valley fold at 9" and a mountain fold at 10". Add Scor-Tape along the 1/2" tab and attach it to the other edge.
Step 7:
Add Scor-Tape to the easel piece and attach it to the back of the card.
