This month, I made a Twisted Gate Fold card.
It opens like this.
To make this card, you will need the following supplies:
Coloured cardstock for base: 5" x 9 3/4"
White cardstock for inside: 3" x 4 3/4" (The sentiment is from the Honey Bee stamps Inside:Birthday set, stamped with Stampin' Up! Early Espresso ink.)
Patterned paper or cardstock to decorate the outside: 3 1/4" x 5" (I used the Beautiful Butterflies 3D embossing folder from Spellbinders, with Bashful Blue ink brayered onto the smooth side of the folder before I ran it through my machine. Then I coloured the butterflies and flowers with a water brush and ink: Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, Tangerine Tango, and Old Olive. I used a Spectrum Noir alcohol marker to add the bodies and antenna of the butterflies.)
Envelope to hold a 5" x 6" card, or a 9" square piece of paper or cardstock to make an envelope
Step 1:
For the base layer, place the 9 3/4" side of the cardstock at the top of your Scor-Pal and score at 3 1/4" and 6 1/2".
Step 2:
Score diagonally from the top left corner to the 3 1/2" score line. Then score diagonally from the 6 1/2" score line to the bottom right corner.
Step 3:
Fold the two straight sides in and then fold the two diagonal score lines back out.
Step 4:
Cut the patterned paper, or cardstock in half diagonally, starting in the upper left corner and ending at the lower right corner. Using Scor-Tape, attach the two pieces to the front.
Step 5:
Add the sentiment to the inside layer and attach it to the inside.
Step 6:
To make an envelope, use a 9" square piece of paper or cardstock. Place the Scor-Envi in your Scor-Pal, and the corner of the paper at the 6" mark. Score at 3 1/4" and 8 3/4". Then turn the paper 90 degrees and score at 2 7/8" and 9 1/8". Trim away the triangular pieces where the score lines cross, and fold along the score lines to make the envelope.
