Hearts and Flowers

Today, I have a card that I am entering in 2 challenges: Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge - create a fun fold card with hand stamped patterned paper, and Mod Squad Challenge - Hearts and Flowers.

I made a circle flip card for my fun fold, using Gina K. Designs (GKD) Red Velvet cardstock. I used a Half Circle Flip die from Your Next Stamp.

For my patterned paper, I used the GKD Made With Love and Little Thoughts stamp sets, using GKD Bubblegum Pink and Red Velvet ink on GKD White cardstock. The flowers and leaves are from the Made With Love stamp set. I used GKD inks: Wild Dandelion, with Peach Bellini around the edges of the flowers, and Grass Green for the leaves. Then I cut them out with a Cottage Cutz Stitched Circle die.

Inside the card, I added the sentiment, from the GKD Holiday Frame Fillers stamp set, with the hearts from the Little Thoughts stamp set, both stamped in GKD Red Velvet ink. This was also cut with the stitched circle die.

Stay Sweet

The Penguin Palace Challenge Blog has a Color Palette Inspiration photo for the current challenge - Love Moodboard.

I used the pastel colours for my inspiration, along with a few hearts.

I used the Penguin Palace Kaleidoscope Stencil 360° to make the background.

For the sentiment, I was inspired by the sayings on the candy hearts, and chose Stay Sweet, from the Penguin Palace Rabbit Cafe stamp set. I added the cupcake and a few hearts that I punched out to finish it off.

February Scor-Pal More Than One Score Challenge

It's time for the first Scor-Pal 'More Than One Score' Challenge of 2022! This month, the theme is Love, or you can make an Anything Goes project as long as it follows the general rules.

Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc, will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score".

This month, I made a card with a double fold gatefold opening. I used a belly band to keep it closed.

To make this card, you will need:
Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 11"

Supplies to decorate. I used:
ColorBox stencil - Lovely
ColorBox ink - Scarlet
blending brush
Cheery Lynn Designs Doily Dies - Italian Flourish
Gina K. Designs Foiling element
         Fancy Foils - Red Velvet
         Holiday Frame Fillers stamp set
Cottage Cutz Stitched Circle die
sequins

Place the cardstock in your Scor-Pal, with the 11" side at the top. Score at 3 3/4" and 7 1/4". Flip it over, with the 11" side still at the top, and score at 2" and 9". Fold the two sides in, flip it over and fold the remaining flaps in, to meet at the middle. This shows the back view. (I forgot to take the picture until after I had the front decorated!) The two top flaps will stick out past the back of the card. This makes it easier to open.

Then you can decorate it as you like. I used a stencil to decorate the front. I first folded the card up, and taped it to the stencil so it would stay in place.

For the inside, I die cut a doily and attached it to the middle. Then I stamped the sentiment, used a die to cut it out, and used Scor-Tape to tape it to the doily before adding a few sequins.

For the belly band, I cut a strip of cardstock, wrapped it somewhat loosely around the card, and taped it together with some Scor-Tape. You don't want it too tight, or you won't be able to slide it off. I foiled the With Love, fussy cut it and taped it on to the belly band.

It's hard to capture the shine of the foil, but here's another picture that shows it a bit better.

I hope you have a chance to play along. You might win a gift certificate to the Scor-Pal store!
