Penguin Palace Challenge #35

This month, the Penguin Palace Challenge #35 is a Colour Palette Inspiration picture.

This is the last day for entries, so I made a quick card.

I used a stencil from the Penguin Palace Fancy Gift Bow Stencils 360° set and blended Gina K. Designs inks through it. (Light Orchid, Medium Orchid, Dark Orchid, Dark Lilac and Medium Lilac)

The sentiment is from the Penguin Palace An Amazing Friend stamp set. stamped with Gina K. Designs Obsidian Amalgam ink.

Time to get this posted before the deadline!

Lattice card

I needed to make a sympathy card, and thought I would try a Lattice card. It is the Monthly Mix Challenge on the Gina K. Designs and Stamp TV Friends Facebook page - Lattice Make a Spring Card.

I started with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock and used a die to cut an opening, leaving a small border around the edge. I used the same die to cut an opening in the front of my card base (4 1/4" x 11").

Using 1/4" strips of cardstock, I made a lattice pattern on the back of my piece of cardstock, covering the center. I attached this to the card base, lining up the openings.

I stamped the flowers and used the stencil set to fill in the colour. I cut it out with the matching die and attached it to the front of the card.

The only tricky part of this card is positioning the sentiment inside! You need to make sure that you can't see it through the lattice work, so it needs to be behind the focal image.

I used the following supplies from Gina K. Designs:
Lovely Flowers stencil set
Lovely Flowers stamp set and die
Light Carnation, Medium Carnation, Applemint, Lucky Clover, Jelly Bean Green, and Fresh Asparagus ink
Obsidian Amalgam ink

March Scor-Pal Card

This month, I made a Layered Folds Card.

Supplies:
Base: Cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
1st layer: Patterned paper 4" x 9 1/2"
2nd layer: Cardstock or Double sided patterned paper 3 1/4" x 8 1/2"
Patterned paper for 2nd layer, if using cardstock: 2 pieces 3" x 3 3/4"
Ribbon: about 13" or 14"
Embellishments to decorate: I used cardstock from my stash and patterned paper from a magazine
            1 1/2" circle punch
            1 3/4" scalloped circle punch
My Favorite Things Vanity License Plate Die-namics and Stamp set (for number 1)
Gina K. Designs Bubblegum Pink ink to stamp the number
Gina K. Designs Holiday Frame Filler stamp set (for Bear)
Lawn Fawn Year Nine stamp set (for hat)
Honey Bee Stamps Inside Birthday stamp set (for sentiments)
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to colour the bear and hat

1st Layer: With the long edge at the top of your Scor-Pal, score at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4". Crease along the fold lines and flip over to the right. Add Scor-Tape to the right hand flap.

Remove the backing paper and fold the flap over. Attach your ribbon, folded in half, with a piece of Scor-Tape.

Attach this piece to your card base.

2nd layer: With the long edge at the top, score at 4 1/2". Fold along the score, so that the long edge is on the bottom and the opening is on the left.

Add your patterned paper. I left the bottom part blank, so I could stamp my message, but if you wanted to add patterned paper to that section cut it at  3" x 4 1/4". Punch a small slit or circle for your ribbon to pass through to tie.

Add your decorations and embellishments. To close, fold in the left flap and then the right flap. Slip one end of the ribbon through the hole and tie.
