Penguin Snow Globe

I have another card for the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix challenge - use critters. 

The penguins from the Playful Penguins set are so cute. When I think of penguins, I think of snow, so I decided to create a snow globe shaker card.

I masked off the bottom and ink blended the top of the background. I added my shaker bits and attached the top layer with some foam tape. To make the globe outline shiny, I used a silver Sharpie marker. I decided to add the penguin and his candy cane treat on the outside, so it was more visible.

I used the following supplies:

Foiled Coffee Card

I was going through my digital files and found this one by Uniko, called Block Party Coffee Love, so I decided to make one last card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I printed the image with my laser printer and then foiled it with some Gold Deco Foil. I used coloured pencils to shade in some of the details. I wanted to make the coffee beans shiny, so I used Clear Wink of Stella.

I layered the image with some orange cardstock and then added it to a white card base.

It's very hard to get a good picture where you can see both the shine of the foil, and the details of the card, so here's another picture without the shine.

It's been so much fun making cards for this hop. It's one I look forward to every year!

 

Autumn Pumpkin Mug

 

I was looking at the Super Sponsor posts from the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, and came across a free digital image from STAMPlorations, called Autumn Pumpkin Mug, designed by Shery Russ.

I am also entering this in the STAMPlorations Anything Goes challenge.

I printed out the image on the right hand side of the cardstock, so that I could fold back the left hand side and make a one layer card. I used coloured pencils and Gamsol to colour the image, and then fussy cut around the mug and the handle. Then I folded the card and cut out the back, following the cut edge on the front.

Snowman Mug

 

Here's another card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I used a SweetnSassy digital image, called Snowman Soup - Mug, and added the Snowman Soup - Marshmallows on top. I printed it out and coloured it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I coloured the snowman and marshmallows with a VersaMark pen, and then added Gina K. Designs Puffy White embossing powder and heated it to puff it up.

The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Scripty Holiday stamp set and is stamped with Gina K. Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink. I added some of the items in the Picket Fence Studios Sequin Mix Plus, called Icicles.

For this card, I used the STAMPlorations Christmas Mugs 2" Circles Digital Collage Sheet, and the CUTplorations Thanks a Latte die. 

The slimline dies and the More Peppermint Kisses sequins are by Picket Fence Studios.

Coffee card #4

 I made another card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. 

I love this sweet little mouse! He looks so happy to have his cup of cocoa! This is a stamp set by Simon Says Stamp, called Cocoa and Love. I coloured the image and the pink heart and green tree cookies with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, and the red hearts are stamped with Gina K. Designs Red Velvet ink. I used a white gel pen to outline the cookies.

I used a VersaMark pen and Gina K. Designs Puffy White embossing powder to make the white parts of his hat and the whipped cream look fluffy.

The sentiment is stamped with Gina K. Designs Warm Cocoa ink.

Coffee Card #3

 This is my third card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I am also entering this in the STAMPlorations Anything Goes Challenge.

I used a digital file from STAMPlorations, called Coffee and Holly. I printed it and coloured it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I wanted to make the coffee carafe look like glass, so I added some Ranger Glossy Accents.

I added some Gina K. Designs Christmas Pine ink around the edges and then added it to a white card base.

The sentiment came from a coffee sleeve!

Fall Colours Coffee Card

 

Here is my second card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. 

I am also entering this in the STAMPlorations Anything Goes Challenge.

For the background, I blended Gina K. Designs ink (Faded Brick, Sweet Mango, Honey Mustard and Warm Cocoa) on a piece of cardstock. Then I thought I would use a stencil (Harvest Flourish, from Gina K. Designs) and water to lift some of the colour off the background. Well, the water ran under the stencil and made the pattern much larger than the stencil. So, once it was dry, I carefully lined up the stencil, sponged on some VersaMark ink, removed the stencil, added some clear embossing powder and heated it up. It gave the shiny pattern with a bit of a shadow from the extra water, so it worked out quite well!

I added the panel to a card base and attached the focal image, Fall for Coffee ATC - Ephemera from STAMPlorations, to complete the card.

Winter Wishes Wreath

 

Yesterday was the beginning of the Fall/Winter 2021 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! That means that I will be making some cards that have coffee, tea, cocoa or cider on them and have a fall or winter theme.

My first card is also going to be entered in the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix challenge - Use Critters on your project.

The little penguin is holding his cup of hot cocoa, which has some whipped cream and a candy cane! I cut around the end of his flippers and slipped the cup in between.

All of the stamps come from the Gina K. Designs Playful Penguins stamp set. The images are coloured with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and the sentiment is stamped with GKD Turquoise Sea ink. The penguin was cut out with the coordinating die.

I sponged some of the Turquoise Sea ink on the edges of the square mat before attaching the 'wreath' layer on top.

I have a few more cards made, so you will be seeing some more posts soon!

Pink Poinsettia

 I have a card for the Mod Squad Challenge - Pretty Poinsettias. We must include at least one poinsettia on our project.

I saw Gina's Stamp and Chat this week, and she had Simon Hurley as a guest. They were showing different ways to use his Stamping Foam and mentioned that you could make an impression with a stencil. I decided to try it out, using the Gina K. Designs (GKD) Harvest Flourish stencil and her Red Velvet ink. 

The poinsettia is from the GKD Perfect Poinsettia stamp set and is stamped with GKD Innocent Pink, Dusty Rose, Red Velvet and Soft Stone ink. The leaves are stamped with Jelly Bean Green and Fresh Asparagus ink.

I used a sentiment strip and the coordinating die that came in the GKD Joyful Holiday kit.

Diamond Background

 I saw a challenge on the Penguin Palace Challenge Blog that had an inspiration photo and color palette.

I have a Penguin Palace cover die (Classic Diamonds Backdrop) that I thought would make a great background, so I picked out some cardstock that matched the colors in the palette.

I used the die on the red, orange and yellow cardstock, saving the diamond shapes from the orange and yellow cardstock. I adhered the red piece to a piece of purple cardstock, using a Scor-Tape Adhesive Sheet, and then placed the orange and yellow diamonds in the holes. 

Since I had used the adhesive sheet, the little oval cuts were sticky. I used some Cool Highlight Crystal Glitter Ritz Transparent Micro Fine Glitter to fill in the ovals.

I wanted to give the diamonds a little shine, so I added some Ranger Glossy Accents. I cut a leaf out of some ribbon that I found at Costco and added that to the front of the card, along with a sentiment.

November Scor-Pal More Than One Score

 

It's time for another More Than One Score Challenge on the Scor-Pal blog! This month, the theme is Family Traditions, or you can make an Anything Goes project as long as it follows the general rules.

Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc, will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score".

This month, I made a Christmas Gift Box.

To make this box, you will need:

Scor-Tape
The Stacker

2 pieces of heavy cardstock - 7 1/2" x 9" and 8 3/8" x 10 7/8"

Cardstock and patterned paper to decorate your box. I used:

Red cardstock - for the bottom - 2 pieces 1 7/8" x 3 3/8"

                                                    2 pieces 1 7/8" x 4 7/8"

                                                    1 piece 3 3/8" x 4 7/8" 

                        - for the top - 2 pieces 1 3/8" x 3 1/2"

                                              2 pieces 1 3/8" x 5"

                                              1 piece 3 1/2" x 5"

Patterned paper - 2 pieces 1 1/8" x 3 1/4"

                            2 pieces 1 1/8" x 4 3/4"

                            1 piece 3 1/4" x 4 3/4"

I used the Score, Fold, Create! Project Book for the templates to make the box. I needed it to be big enough for an ornament, so I made it 2 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches long. Using your Scor-Pal, score at 2" on all sides of the smaller of the two pieces of heavy cardstock. On one side, cut along the two score lines up to the other score line. Repeat the process on the opposite side.

For the top, I wanted to make it with double thickness sides, to give it a more finished look. I only had an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock, so I had to shorten the sides and the part I folded over. So, with the 10 7/8" side at the top of your Scor-Pal, score at 3/4" and 2 1/4". Rotate the cardstock 180 degrees and repeat. With the 8 3/8" side at the top, score at 1 3/8" and 2 7/8" on both sides. Cut off the corners as shown.

Add the decorative cardstock and patterned paper, along with the Scor-Tape.

You will also need to add Scor-Tape on the inside of the outer tabs to adhere them to the inner sides. 

Here is my box with the ornament. It's a perfect fit!

I also added a bit of ribbon, and a couple of holly leaves and berries to match the paper.
