More Falling Leaves

I needed a birthday card for a friend, so I decided to make a slimline card with the leaves falling down the card.

I made the card base and the top layer with Accent Opaque Digital 120 pound Cover Smooth cardstock. Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment with Gina K. Designs Warm Cocoa ink, cleaned the stamps and restamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed in clear. Since I didn't move the stamps, they stamped in exactly the same place the second time.

I also used my MISTI to stamp the leaves in Gina K. Designs Whisper Amalgam ink. The leaves and sentiment are all from the Gina K. Designs The Best Flowers stamp set. I coloured part of each leaf with some Laurentien coloured pencils, and then blended it to the rest of the leaf with Odorless Mineral Spirits and a paper blending stump. I shaded under each leaf with Spectrum Noir alcohol marker BG2. The front panel was layered onto some Gold Foil cardstock and then on to the card base.

I am entering this in a few challenges:

The storm earlier this week wasn't as bad as predicted, so we didn't get many leaves down. They will have time to change to their pretty colours before they fall, now!

  1. So very beautiful and there is such great movement in your leafy design. They really look to be floating.
