August Scor-Pal Challenge

It's time for another Scor-Pal More Than One Score Challenge! This month, the theme is Birthdays, but you can also make an Anything Goes project.

Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score".

I saw this card style on Pinterest recently, so I thought I would give it a try.

To make this card, you will need:
Scor-Pal
Scor-Tape
The Stacker
Cardstock - one piece, 8 1/2" x 8" (I used yellow)

                 - 6 pieces, 1 3/4" square (I used pink)
Patterned paper - 6 pieces, 1 3/4" square
                          - 6 pieces, 1 1/2" square
(I used Crafter’s Companion Vintage Tea Party patterned paper, from a
                               Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine)

For embellishments, I used:
Stampin' Up!: Four Frames, Silhouette Sentiments stamp sets
                       Decorative Label punch
Gina K. Designs Birthday Blessings stamp set
1" circle punch

Attach the 1 1/2" square patterned paper pieces to the cardstock squares with Scor-Tape. The Stacker makes it easy to add the Scor-Tape to your project. It's like having another hand!

Using your Scor-Pal, with the 8 1/2" side of the cardstock at the top, score at 2", 4", 6", and 8". Cut off two 2" strips from the bottom, so you have two 2" x 8 1/2" pieces and one 4" x 8 1/2". On the half inch tabs, cut off a small triangle from the corners. Fold along all the score lines.

Place the strips with the tabs at the bottom and add Scor-Tape to the tabs. Tape the squares to the center two squares of the strips.

Turn the strips over, and tape one of the 1 3/4" patterned paper pieces to the bottom square and another one to the tab, with the square hanging over the end. Then fold the square up, remove the tape backing and fold down the top square to attach.

Take the larger piece of cardstock, with the tab at the right, and attach two of the patterned paper squares; one at the top of the right section and the other at the top of the tab. Fold in the right hand section, add tape, remove the backing and fold the left section over to attach.

Turn the large piece over, so the join is at the back. Position the two smaller pieces with the join in the middle of the back, and tape the top half of the back to the bottom portion of the large piece.

Tape the last two squares of cardstock with the patterned paper attached to the top portion of the larger piece.

When you stand the card up, it forms three cubes.

To attach the embellishments, I used a 1" circle and cut it in half. I folded each piece in half and attached one side of each half to the back of the embellishment. The other side is attached to each side of the front corner.

The card folds flat for easy mailing.

I hope you will join in the challenge. You could win a gift certificate to the Scor-Pal store!
