Foil Quill card

Scrap 'n Stamp, a Canadian company, had a giveaway recently. It was a We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill All in One set, and I won! It is used with an electronic cutting machine, heats up and 'draws' the design, which transfers the foil to your cardstock.

The All in One set comes with three different sized tips, adapters for 4 cutting machines (Silhouette, Cricut, Sizzix and the Brother ScanNCut), 3 rolls of foil (gold, silver and rose gold), a roll of washi tape and a heat protection plate.

My first try was a fairly intricate doily that I had in my library, Silhouette Design #8370. I used the finest tip and used the rose gold foil. Here is the result.

I was really pleased with how it turned out. There were no missed spots, and it really shines!

Here is the card I made with it.

I didn't want to take away from the foiled design, so I just added a sentiment, from the Gina K. Designs Sweet Camellia Stamp set, in the middle. I used Gina's Dark chocolate ink, as I thought it would be a better match than black, and cut it out with a Cottage Cutz Stitched Circle die.

I am entering this in the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix challenge - White Space, and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

Then I decided to experiment with the different foils that I had, to see if any of them would work.

 I used these foils:

Top left: Heidi Swapp Minc foil
Bottom left: Lisa Pavelka crafting foil
Top right: Deco Foil
Bottom right: Gina K. Designs Therm O Web Fancy Foils

As you can see, none of them really worked, so I placed an order for some of the We R Memory Keepers foil.

Thanks so much to Scrap 'n Stamp for this fabulous prize!
