This is for the challenge from the Release Party last week. We have to make a Christmas card with a wood-grained look background. Here is what I came up with.
I started with a piece of ivory cardstock, scored it every 3/4", dragged my Warm Cocoa ink pad over and then my Red Velvet ink pad. I embossed with an embossing folder, making sure the image went into the card. I then dragged my Ivory ink pad over the top to bring out the debossed image.
I stamped the holly leaf and sentiment with Perfect Medium, used Pearl Ex Powder to give them colour and cut it out with a die. I stacked it all to see what it would look like and my husband suggested that I draw some green lines on the card base around the background. After I drew the lines I adhered the background and popped up the sentiment layer with foam squares.
Materials used:
Gina K. Designs: Ivory cardstock
Warm Cocoa, Red Velvet and Ivory ink
Sentimental Holiday stamp set
Embossing folder from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine
Perfect Medium
Pearl Ex Powder - Aztec Gold, Blue Russet, Spring Green, Duo Green Yellow
Die that came with the Evolution Advanced machine
Spectrum Noir alcohol marker: JG1
foam squares from my stash
