For this week's StampTV MIUM challenge - Inspired by a Video we were to go through the videos on StampTV and pick a technique we liked and make a card with that technique. I used the Scrappy Background technique found in this video: http://stamptv.ning.com/video/scrappy-background. It uses up the scraps of patterned paper that are too good to throw away and qualifies nicely for this month's StampTV Kit Addicts group challenge - Patterned Papers.
Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Made with Love stamp set and patterned paper pack
White and Black cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers: OR2, OR3
Clear Wink of Stella brush
foam squares and rhinestones from my stash
I used a piece of white cardstock cut to 3 3/4" x 5" and adhered my strips of patterned paper(1/2" wide). It's fun to vary the direction and patterns as you go so that no two cards would come out the same. I matted it with black cardstock and attached it to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base.
I stamped the butterfly and sentiment and coloured in the butterfly with alcohol markers. I matted it with black and popped it up with some foam squares. I added some rhinestones in the middle and used a clear Wink of Stella brush on the butterfly to give it some shine.

Awesome look with that background using scraps. You used a great mix of pattern papers too.
ReplyDeleteI loved the way you used the strips to make the background. Great job!
