Inlaid Christmas Card

I made this card for the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge - Christmas in July. It's always nice to get a few Christmas cards made early.

I used the inlaid technique, so the top surface of the card is smooth.

I started by layering two pieces of white cardstock with Scor-Tape adhesive sheet, and added another piece of adhesive sheet on top. Leaving the release paper on the adhesive, I ran this through my die cutting with the Ultimate Crafts Mosaic Die. I used the die three more times - once from Gina K. Designs Red Velvet cardstock, once from Gold Foil Cardstock, and once from white cardstock.

For the red layer, I carefully pushed all the small pieces out of the die, keeping them in their place. Then I picked them up with Press 'n Seal and placed them into the spaces, after I removed the release sheet. Then I pressed each piece into the adhesive.

Next, I added the gold layer, and then the white layer around the outside.

The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Holiday Frame stamp set, stamped with Gina K. Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink and cut out with the Decorative Label die, also by Gina K. Designs.

It's hard to believe that there are only 5 months until Christmas! This year is flying by.
