Positively Negative

Today I made a card for two challenges: Mod Squad Challenge Blog - Positively Negative  and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - A Hint of Pink.

For the Positively Negative challenge, we had to stamp an image in colour on a white background, stamp the same image in white on the coloured background, cut them in half and put the opposite pieces back together to make the whole image. I used white embossing powder for my white image to make sure it showed up well.

I used pink foil on a foiling element from a StampTV kit to make the flowers shiny. A foiling element is a piece of cardstock that has the images printed with toner. When you run the sheet through the laminator with foil on top, the toner heats up and the foil sticks to it. When you peel back the foil, you have a shiny image. It's hard to take pictures that show all the shine!

I matted the layers, attached the background to a white card base and popped up the top layer with some foam squares. I added a few sequins for some extra sparkle.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Especially for You stamp set
Foiling element from Sending Love StampTV kit
                         Bubblegum Pink ink
Bubblegum Pink and Cranberry Tart cardstock
VersaMark ink
Heidi Swapp Light Pink Minc foil
Purple Cows laminator
white embossing powder, white cardstock, foam squares, sequins from my stash

  2. I agree, Dawn, it's nearly impossible to capture the shine of the foil in a photograph. I bet this is so much prettier in real life, but I really love your design. And your pretty pink color is perfect for your focal. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us this week over at the Mod Squad!!
