September Scor-Pal Project

This month, I have a heart shaped box to show you.

Supplies needed:
Scor-Pal
Scor-Tape
The Stacker
Heavy weight Cardstock – 2 pieces of 8 1/2” x 10 1/2”
                                           3 pieces of 8 1/2” x 11”
If you wish to add any stamping to your cardstock, do it before you start scoring. I used the Stampin’ Up! Crosshatch background stamp, using Stampin’ Up! Melon Mambo ink, and stamped it several times to cover each of the 5 sheets. When scoring, have the decorated side facing up.

Decorations and Embellishments – I used Spellbinders Shapeabilities Die D-Lites Blooms Three and Blooms Four, and Picket Fence Studios Leaves for Flowers stamp set and coordinating dies

Step 1

Using one piece of 8 1/2” x 10 1/2” cardstock, with the long edge at the top of your Scor-Pal, score at 4”, 4 1/2”, 5”, 5 1/2”, 6”, 6 1/2”, 7”, 7 1/2”, 8”, 8 1/2” and 10”. Turn it 90° to the right and score at 1/2” and 5 1/2”.

For the second piece, score at 1 1/2”, 2”, 2 1/2”, 3”, 3 1/2”, 4”, 4 1/2”, 5”, 5 1/2”, 6” and 10”. Turn it 90° to the right and score at 1/2” and 5 1/2”.

Crease all the score lines, and firmly crease the 1/2” and 5 1/2” lines and the 10” lines.

Step 2

For each piece, hold the cardstock so the 1/2” score lines are at the top and at the left. Trim off the small square at the top left hand corner. Cut up from the bottom along the score lines to the 5 1/2” line. Trim off the bottom left flap.

Trim off a bit of the large 4” bottom flap so it will fold more easily. Refer to the pictures for placement.

Step 3

Turn each piece over, and add Scor-Tape along the top 1/2” flap and along the left edge above the 5 1/2” score line.

Step 4

Remove the liner from the Scor-Tape on the left side of one piece and attach it to the right flap on the other piece. Repeat to attach the other sides together. Remove the liner from the Scor-Tape on the top flap and fold to the inside.

Step 5

Turn the box over and fold in the flaps. Temporarily tape the flaps once you have the heart shape you want. Trace the heart shape twice on one sheet of 8 1/2” by 11” cardstock, cut them out and attach Scor-Tape to the wrong side of each.

Make sure one of them will fit inside your box – you will need to make this one a bit smaller.

Step 6

Remove the temporary tape and tape the cut out hearts to the bottom of the box, both outside and inside.

Step 7

Cut one of the 8 1/2” x 11” pieces of cardstock in half to make two pieces measuring 4 1/4” x 11”. Place one in your Scor-Pal and score at 4 1/2”, 5”, 5 1/2”, 6”, 6 1/2”, 7”, 7 1/2”, 8”, 8 1/2” and 10 1/2”. Turn it 90° to the right and score at 1/2” and 1 1/2”.

For the second piece, score at 2”, 2 1/2”, 3”, 3 1/2”, 4”, 4 1/2”, 5”, 5 1/2”, 6” and 10 1/2”. Turn it 90° to the right and score at 1/2” and 1 1/2”.

Crease all score lines and firmly crease the 1/2” and 1 1/2” lines and the 10 1/2” lines.

Trim the top left square where the two 1/2” score lines meet, and add Scor-Tape to the same areas as the box bottom.

Step 8

Assemble the top the same way as the bottom of the box.

Step 9

Trace two hearts on the remaining piece of 8 1/2” x 11” and attach as before.

Step 10

Decorate as desired.
