May Scor-Pal project

This month, I have a tutorial for a Round Top Box. It is a cute little box that you can make to give a small gift.

Supplies:
Cardstock 8" x 11 1/2"
circle die or shape about 4" in diameter to trace around
hole punch
ribbon

Embellishments to decorate. I used:
Gina K. Designs Petite Flourish background stamp
                            Peach Bellini ink
Dazzling Dahlia stamp set and coordinating dies
Coral Reef, Sweet Mango, Jelly Bean Green, Fresh Asparagus ink
                            Decorative Tag die
Art From the Heart stamp set
                            Obsidian Amalgam ink

Step 1: With the 11 1/2" side of the cardstock at the top of your Scor-Pal, score at 3 3/4" and 7 3/4". I wanted to add a background texture to my cardstock, so I stamped it a few times with a background stamp. It doesn't go all the way to the edges, but we will be cutting the corners off.

Step 2: Turn your cardstock 90°, so the 8" side is at the top, and score at 2 1/2" and 5 1/2".

Step 3: Cut along the score lines to where the lines intersect. You will be cutting off all 4 corners.

Step 4: Turn your piece of cardstock over, and on the two shorter flaps, trace around the circle die or object. I used a 4" round stencil. Place it at the end of the flap, with the sides of the object centered on the flap.

Step 5: On the longer flaps, place the circle at the end of the flap and centered on the flap. I used the ridges on my Scor-Pal to make sure it was centered.

Step 6: Cut along the marked lines to trim the ends of the flaps.

Step 7: Using a hole punch, make a hole in the center of the end of each flap.

Step 8: Crease along the score lines. Add any embellishments, and place the item in the box.

Step 9: Tie the shorter flaps together with a piece of ribbon first, and then the longer flaps.
