Easter is coming up, so I thought I better get some cards made. I wanted to do a sun ray pattern, but I didn't have a stencil, so I decided to make one. I drew the pattern in Silhouette Studio and then cut it out of a piece of acetate with my Silhouette Cameo machine.
I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the frame with black amalgam ink. I knew I would be using water based ink and an alcohol marker and the amalgam ink would not bleed with either one. I stamped the frame again, on a plain piece of paper, and cut out the top and bottom sections. I used this as a mask and sponged through the stencil to create the sun ray pattern. I used less ink as I sponged toward the edge to create the ombre effect.
I coloured in the frame with a purple marker to make it look like layers of cardstock. I stamped the frame on some patterned paper and cut out the sides of the belly band. I attached them onto the frame, stamped the sentiment, and taped the panel onto a white card base. I added a few rhinestones to finish it off.
