Gold Foiled Card

I made a card for two challenges this week. The StampTV MIUM challenge is to have some sort of foiling on our card and the Mod Squad Blog challenge is to have some gold on our card.

I always find cards with foil very difficult to photograph and this time was no exception! Using a piece of red cardstock as a background, I stamped the snowflake with VersaMark ink, heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and ran it through my laminator with the gold foil. I cut an oval, stamped the sentiment and matted it with a black, scalloped oval. I die cut the bow and assembled it. I cut a piece of gold foil paper and layered it on the background, which I matted with black and attached to a cream card base. I used my Wink of Stella marker and gave the bow and the ovals a nice sparkle. I attached the ovals and then used a glue dot to adhere the bow.

I used the following supplies:

Gina K. Designs: Snow Frame and Sentimental Holiday stamp sets
                             Red Velvet cardstock
VersaMark ink
Recollections Clear embossing powder
Heidi Swapp Gold Minc foil
VersaFine Onyx Black ink
Creative Memories Oval Cutting System
Spellbinders Nestibilities Big Scalloped Ovals Large
Bow dies that were in with a magazine
Wink of Stella marker
Mini Glue Dot
cream and black cardstock, gold foil paper from my stash

  1. I can see the gold! Yes, it hard to capture with your camera, but I love your design. Looks like it would be easy to mail and still have some dimension to it. Love the red and gold. Very festive! Thanks for joining us at the Mod Squad this week.

  2. I love the gold on your card. And, I agree it is hard to photograph foil and glitter but you did get a good one as I can see all the gold elements on your card.
