This month's project is another fun fold card, called the Drapery Fold. It uses double-sided patterned paper.
You will need the following supplies to make this card:
Double-sided Patterned paper: 8 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Cardstock:
3 3/4" x 3 1/2" coloured cardstock to match the patterned paper
3 3/4" x 5" white cardstock for the front panel
3 7/8" x 5 1/8" coloured cardstock for the front layer
8 1/2" x 5" for the card base
Stamps and embellishments to decorate
Step 1:
Decide which side of the patterned paper you like better, and place it in your Scor-Pal with this side up. With the 8 3/4" side at the top, score at 1 1/4", 1 3/4", 2 3/4", 3 1/4", 4 1/4", 4 3/4", 5 3/4", 6 1/4", 7 1/4", and 7 3/4".
Step 2:
With a paper trimmer, or scissors, cut a diagonal line from the bottom edge of the 1 1/4" score line to 1/2" from the top of the right edge of the paper.
Step 3:
Make an accordian fold, starting with a valley fold at the 1 1/4" score line and alternating mountain and valley folds. Crease well.
Turn the patterned paper over, and add Scor-Tape along the top edge to hold the folds in place. Add more Scor-Tape along the other edges.
Step 5:
Add decoration to the 3 3/4" x 3 1/2" piece of coloured cardstock in the bottom right corner, if you wish. I used the Morning Glory 2 stamp set, from Altenew, and Stampin' Up! Baja Breeze ink. Then, remove the release paper from the Scor-Tape and attach the folded patterned paper to the cardstock.
Step 6:
Decorate the top of the white card panel. I used the same stamp set for the flowers and added Stampin' Up! Pear Pizzazz and Pacific Point ink. The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Natural Silhouettes stamp set and is stamped in Obsidian Amalgam ink, also from Gina K. Designs.
Attach the folded paper panel to the bottom of the white card panel, and then add this to the 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" coloured layer. Using Scor-Tape, add a piece of ribbon across the top of the patterned paper and wrap it around to the back on both sides. Then add the front panel to a white card base.
Step 7:
Decorate the inside of the card. I added a strip of the patterned paper to the bottom, and stamped the sentiments, from the Honey Bee Stamps Inside:Birthday stamp set, with Obsidian Amalgam ink.
