Die Cut Images

This week there was a new release at Gina K. Designs, so I made this card for the Release Party Challenge - Cut It Out. We are to use die cut stamped images as our focal image. I made a matching envelope for the StampTV Monthly Mix challenge - And the Envelope, Please. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Make your own Background.

For the card: I started with a piece of watercolour paper. I tapped some blue ink pads on my craft mat to get some ink to watercolour with. I started with the darker colour at the top and blended down to the lighter colour at the bottom. I let this dry thoroughly. I stamped the boughs and pine cones and cut them out with the matching dies. I layered the watercoloured layer onto a blue mat and then a white card base. I adhered the boughs and cones with some foam squares and added the sentiment which was stamped on a small white rectangle.

For the envelope: I stamped the boughs and cones and then die cut a rectangle using a square die by partially cutting it and then moving the die and partially cutting from the other side. I sponged the edge of the rectangle with blue and adhered it with adhesive tape.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Seasonal Sentiments Stamp set and coordinating dies
Ink: Blue Denim, Powder Blue, Christmas Pine, Dark Chocolate
                            Blue Denim and White cardstock
Cottage Cutz Square Stitched die
Canson Bristol XL Recycled paper
paint brush, foam squares, sponge dauber, adhesive tape from my stash
