Plaid Tag

I have been inspired by another tag. It is by Karen Letchworth on Day 9 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I am entering that challenge and also the StampTV MIUM challenge - Tag, You're It.

The background was made by adhering tissue paper to cardstock with cling wrap. You put the cling wrap in between the two layers and use an iron to melt it. This sticks the two layers together and you can use it like patterned paper.

I stamped the holly leaves and cut them out with the coordinating die. I also die cut the berries with another die in the set. The holly stamp only has two leaves so I cut out an extra one, cut it apart and glued one leaf to each of the other two leaves. I added the berries in the middle.

I stamped the sentiment, cut it out with a square die and cut it again to make the rectangle. I did the same with the black mat with a postage stamp edge die.

I attached a piece of patterned paper to the tag and added the sentiment. I wrapped the black gingham type ribbon around the tag and tied a bow. Then I added another bow underneath. I punched a hole in the top and threaded the black ribbon through and tied a bow. Then I added the red gingham ribbon. I popped up the holly leaves with some foam squares and added three sequins to the sentiment layer.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Merry & Bright stamp set and coordinating dies
                            Fresh Asparagus ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Cottage Cutz Stitched Square Set die
Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Frame die
tissue paper, cling wrap, ribbon, foam squares, sequins,
patterned paper, white, red and black                           cardstock from my stash

  2. That is so gorgeous! I used to use freezer paper and napkins and ironed them but I never tried anything like that with the tissue paper. And, what pretty tissue paper. That is awesome!

  5. Hi Dawn! I'm honored to have you re-create my tag from Paper Sweeties. I love what you've done. The Christmas plaid and the holly leaves and berries is one of my favorite combinations for the holidays. Great job, my creative friend.
