Butterfly Wreath

This is the season for birthdays in my extended family, so I made another birthday card. 

For this card, my supplies are from Gina K. Designs.

I used the Wreath Builder template with the Bitty Botanicals Mini stamp set, and inked the images with Jelly Bean Green, Bubblegum Pink, and Ocean Mist ink. I added this to a Jelly Bean Green layer and attached it to a white card base.

The sentiment is from the Star Flower stamp set, stamped with Jelly Bean Green ink, and added to a Jelly Bean Green layer before being attached to the middle of the wreath.

I am looking forward to having real butterflies in the garden!

Rainbow Birthday

I have a colourful rainbow card today. I am entering it in the Penguin Palace Challenge #22 - Anything Goes.

One of the stencils in the Penguin Palace Sacred Lotus Stencils 360° set gives this lovely pattern. I inked it up with a rainbow of Gina K. Designs inks (Passionate Pink, Cherry Red, Tangerine Twist, Wild Dandelion, Grass Green, Turquoise Sea, Blue Denim, Dark Orchid).

The penguin is from the Penguin Agenda stamp set, and I finished it off with the sentiment, from the An Amazing Friend stamp set.

   

98th Birthday Card

Today, I have a card for a friend who is turning 98 this week!

All of my supplies are from Gina K. Designs, except the gold foil cardstock.

I started by blending Lucky Clover ink through the Thick Brush stencil to make a light background. On a separate piece of white cardstock, I blended Lucky Clover, Powder Blue, and Medium Orchid ink. I then cut out the back part of the Floral banner dies from this, and cut the detailed part of the die from gold foil cardstock. I glued these two pieces together with some Connect Glue and attached them to the front panel.

The butterfly is from the Butterfly Kisses Stamp 'n Foil set. It was stamped with Powder Blue ink, foiled with Brilliant Blue Fancy Foil, and cut out with the coordinating die.

For the sentiment, I used the So Many Sentiments stamp set and Obsidian Amalgam ink.

I added the front panel to a gold foil layer and then onto a white card base.

I hope that I am as healthy and active as my friend when I am 98!

 

Sympathy Card

I needed a sympathy card for a friend, and thought I would make a wreath card to enter in the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge.

The Gina K. Designs (GKD) Wreath Builder template makes it so easy to create a wreath. You can use any small stamps you have, so for this card I used the GKD Embroidered Flowers stamp set, by Melanie Muenchinger. I used GKD Fresh Asparagus, Sweet Corn, and Medium Lilac ink.

The sentiment came from the GKD Natural Silhouettes stamp set, and was stamped with Fresh Asparagus ink. 

I added a strip of Fresh Asparagus cardstock above the sentiment before adding the front panel to a  Fresh Asparagus layer, and then to a white card base.

February Scor-Pal

 

It's time for the first Scor-Pal post of 2023! This month, I made a Tri-fold Shutter Valentine's Day card.

To make this card, you will need:

Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 10 1/2"

Patterned paper to decorate

With the 10 1/2" side of the cardstock on top, score at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 7" and 8 3/4". Turn the cardstock 90 degrees, and cut 1 1/2" from each edge, just between the score lines.

Fold along the score lines to make the following shape:

Then, you can decorate it. I couldn't find any patterned paper in my stash that I liked for this card, so I made my own. I picked out heart shapes from about 10 different stamp sets, and stamped them with 4 ink colours. The solid pieces are from the DCWV The Shimmer Stack, and the sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Sketched Wreath Builder.
