Pop-up card

I made this card for a friend. She loves pop-up cards, so I thought I would make one for her. I am entering this in the StampTV Monthly Mix challenge - Kindness and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Layer it up.

Here is what the inside looks like:

I started by making the pop-up element that I found on Pinterest. Using yellow paper, I cut out the flowers and then flicked the middle and edges with a regular marker. I attached them together and set them aside.

For the front of the card, I stamped the flowers after I had stamped off on a sheet of scrap paper. This made them a lighter colour, although they look quite bright in the photo. I punched them out and sponged the edges. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a die.

I embossed the front of a white card base with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I fastened some ribbon around the top of a piece of patterned paper and adhered this to the bottom half of the card base. I popped up the sentiment and the flowers with some foam squares.

Rose Bouquet

I made this card for the StampTV Monthly Mix Challenge - Kindness. I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Add a Sentiment.

I started by stamping the roses and the sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock and colouring the roses and leaves with alcohol markers. I adhered some washi tape onto the bottom of a piece of red cardstock and attached this to a white card base. I sponged the edges of the focal image layer and added it to the red layer.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Rose Bouquet stamp set
                             Red Velvet cardstock and ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Spectrum Noir: Ultra Smooth Premium White cardstock
                          Alcohol Markers: AG1, AG2, AG3, AG4, DR1, DR3, DR4, DR7, CR6
sponge dauber, washi tape, adhesive from my stash

Lay It Out Both Ways

There was a new release from Gina K. Designs last week and there is a card challenge to go along with it called Lay It Out Both Ways. We are to make two cards, one horizontal and one vertical, using the same stamps for the focal image. I am also entering these in the StampTV Monthly Mix Challenge - Kindness.

I love Gina's heavy base weight cardstock because you can make a one layer card and use alcohol markers without them bleeding through to the other side. I started by punching the bottom edge of the card bases and then lined them with pink cardstock. I stamped the floral images, coloured them with alcohol markers and then stamped the sentiments. I coloured some adhesive pearls with a marker that matched the pink cardstock and attached them to the cards.

I used the following supplies:

Gina K. Designs: Sending Love Stamp set
                             Heavy Base Weight White cardstock
                             Bubblegum Pink cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers: MG4, MG3, BP1, CT3, AG4, AG2, BP2
edge punch, adhesive and pearls from my stash

Black, White and Kraft

The current challenge on the Mod Squad Challenge Blog is a Color Throwdown. We must use the colors Black, White and Kraft and no other colors. I am also entering this in the StampTV Monthly Mix Challenge - Kindness.

I stamped the cute cat silhouettes and the matching sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and cut it out with a scalloped oval die. I wrapped a piece of ribbon around a piece of black cardstock and attached brads in the four corners. I taped the oval onto the black cardstock and layered this onto a kraft card base with some foam squares.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Better with You stamp set
                             White cardstock
Black and White Gingham Fancy Ribbon
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
scalloped oval die, brads, black and kraft cardstock from my stash
