Square Tag

There are more beautiful tags on the 25 Days of Christmas Tags site. I was inspired by Michele Ferguson's tags on day 22. I am also entering this in the StampTV MIUM challenge - Get in Shape. We had to pick a shape or two and use that on our project.

I didn't have any plaid paper or stamps, so I used squares to give the look of plaid. I cut out squares that are about 1 1/2 cm wide. I attached them onto a square of black cardstock and then to a small white card base.

I stamped the sentiment and trimmed it down, and then stamped the holly and fussy cut it out. I used foam squares to pop up the holly and sentiment, punched a hole in the corner and threaded the baker's twine through. I used some red Stickles to add the berries.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Seasonal Sentiments Stamp set
                             Sentimental Holiday Stamp set
                             Cold Snap patterned paper
                             Fresh Asparagus ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Christmas Red Stickles
1/16" punch, black and white cardstock, black twine, foam squares from my stash

Cutout Card

This week, for the StampTV MIUM challenge - Cut It Out, we were asked to cut out a portion of our card front and then use that cut out portion on the inside. So here is the card front:

And here is the inside:

I decided to use the snowflake dies that go with the Seasonal Sentiments stamp set. I went with a white card front to look like the snow and used a swirly patterned paper behind the cutouts to look like the wind. I embossed the sentiment and attached the layers to a navy card base.

For the inside, I stamped and embossed the snowflakes on the die cut pieces before adhering them to the card base. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and attached that to the bottom.

I used these supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Seasonal Sentiments Stamp set and coordinating dies
                             Scripty Holiday Stamp set
                             Cold Snap patterned paper
VersaMark ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
silver embossing powder, white and navy cardstock

Plaid Tag

I have been inspired by another tag. It is by Karen Letchworth on Day 9 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I am entering that challenge and also the StampTV MIUM challenge - Tag, You're It.

The background was made by adhering tissue paper to cardstock with cling wrap. You put the cling wrap in between the two layers and use an iron to melt it. This sticks the two layers together and you can use it like patterned paper.

I stamped the holly leaves and cut them out with the coordinating die. I also die cut the berries with another die in the set. The holly stamp only has two leaves so I cut out an extra one, cut it apart and glued one leaf to each of the other two leaves. I added the berries in the middle.

I stamped the sentiment, cut it out with a square die and cut it again to make the rectangle. I did the same with the black mat with a postage stamp edge die.

I attached a piece of patterned paper to the tag and added the sentiment. I wrapped the black gingham type ribbon around the tag and tied a bow. Then I added another bow underneath. I punched a hole in the top and threaded the black ribbon through and tied a bow. Then I added the red gingham ribbon. I popped up the holly leaves with some foam squares and added three sequins to the sentiment layer.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Merry & Bright stamp set and coordinating dies
                            Fresh Asparagus ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Cottage Cutz Stitched Square Set die
Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Frame die
tissue paper, cling wrap, ribbon, foam squares, sequins,
patterned paper, white, red and black                           cardstock from my stash

Pine Cone Tag

This tag was inspired by the tag by Svitlana Shayevich on day 5 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I am entering it in the StampTV MIUM challenge - Tag, You're It and the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

I stamped the branches with Christmas Pine, both in full strength and stamped off. I also added some in Moonlit Fog. I added the pine cones, trimmed the top corners and sponged around the edges. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it with clear embossing powder. After punching a hole, I threaded the ribbon and tied it.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Seasonal Sentiments stamp set
                             White cardstock
Ink: Christmas Pine, Moonlit Fog, Warm Cocoa, Red Velvet
clear embossing powder, sponge dauber, ribbon from my stash

Card and Tag

This week, the StampTV MIUM challenge is to make two things that match. It can be a card and tag, box and bag, any two things as long as they match. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Christmas Gift Tag, and Tracey McNeeley's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

I was inspired by Jo Nevill in Day 1 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I liked the clean and simple look with the sparkly gold stars.

For the tag, I stamped the image and sentiment with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold. I used the VersaMarker to write the To and From and embossed them. I punched the top of the tag and tied the ribbon on.

For the card, I used VersaMark ink to stamp the ornament randomly onto a piece of Red Velvet cardstock to give a watermark look.  I embossed the ornament and sentiment on white cardstock, sponged the edges and adhered it to the red cardstock. This was then attached to a white card base.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Merry & Bright stamp set
                            Scripty Holidays stamp set
                            Red velvet cardstock and ink
                            White cardstock
VersaMark ink, VersaMarker
antique gold embossing powder, ribbon from my stash
