Summer Moodboard

The Penguin Palace challenge for this month is a Summer Moodboard. I didn't do a beach scene, but I used the colour palette to make a card with a summer feel.

For my background, I blended Gina K. Designs Sandy Beach, Powder Blue, Ocean Mist, Blue Lagoon, and Blue Denim ink. Then I stamped the images, from the Penguin Palace Rabbit Cafe stamp set, coloured them with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
I used bright colours to give a summer feel.

I used a bright pink mat, and then attached everything to a white card base.

Baptism card

I needed a baptism card, and didn't have any stamps with the right sentiment, so I used my Foil Quill to write one.

The die cut cross is from Gina K. Designs Elegant Cross set. It has a solid base layer and an intricate top layer.

For the inside, I also used the Foil Quill to write the sentiment.

It's easier to see the foil shine in this picture.

I was pleased with the way this turned out, and am glad that I was able to write my own sentiments so they look better than my handwriting!

Anniversary card

I saw this technique on Gina K. Designs YouTube channel, and thought it would make a nice anniversary card.

You need a stamp positioner to make this, but it is fairly easy to do. I stamped the image, from the Gina K. Designs (GKD) Peaceful Violets stamp set, on two pieces of cardstock, using my MISTI, so they are in the same position on both pieces. Then I centered the GKD 3-D Diamonds cover plate die on one of the pieces of cardstock, and cut it out. I added GKD Connect glue to the back, and attached it to the solid piece, lining up the stamped pattern.

I added a violet mat and attached everything to a white card base. The Happy is from the deco foil Happy Everything stamp and die set, and is stamped with GKD Lovely Lavender. Anniversary comes from the GKD Happy Bouquet stamp set, by Arjita Singh, and is also stamped in Lovely Lavender.

June Scor-Pal More Than One Score

This month, I made a Father's Day card with a Double Z fold.

It opens up like this.

To make this card, you will need:
cardstock - 5 3/4" x 8 1/2"
                 - 4" x 8"
stamps, patterned paper to decorate

On the larger piece of cardstock, with the 8 1/2" side at the top, score at 2 1/8" and 4". On the smaller piece, with the 8" side at the top, score at 4" and 6". Fold to make a Z in each piece, making a mountain fold on the left and a valley fold on the right.

Decorate with patterned paper and stamps. To attach the smaller piece to the larger piece, add Scor-Tape to the back of the top half of the square on the smaller piece. Before you take off the release paper, line it up so you know approximately where to place it. Then remove the release paper, and attach it.

Add Scor-Tape to the back of the bottom section of the small piece. Turn the card over, open the front of the card, and fold up the small piece as it will be when the card is closed. Here, the front of the card is closest to the bottom of the picture.

Then, remove the release paper and close the card up.

The small piece will be in the perfect spot. You could also make this as a portrait style card, with the opening on the right.
