Lots of Love

This week, the challenge on StampTV MIUM is to make a tag. It can be part of a card, or a stand alone tag. I am also entering this card in Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love is in the Air and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

I started with the tag. I had seen this idea on Pinterest, but have no idea where, so I can't give any credit. I cut thin strips of patterned paper and punched a small heart out of the end of each. The strip has to be the same width as the punch to give this effect. I stamped the sentiment, sponged the edges, attached the patterned paper and threaded the ribbon through the top.

To make the card, I stamped the image randomly over the card and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I sponged over the background, but didn't wipe off the embossed parts. This gives a darker look than the paper. I had a border that I received in a prize bag that I won, so I sponged the edge of the card and placed the border over top. I attached the tag and the card was finished!

I used the following supplies:

Gina K. Designs: Patterned Paper - Cold Snap
Stamp Sets - Square Pegs, Birthday Blessings
                             Black die cut border
Card stock - White layering weight and base weight
Stampin' Up!: Tag top punch
ColorBox ink: Cranberry
Versamark ink: Watermark
Recollections: Clear embossing powder
Small heart punch and ribbon from my stash

Blue card

I made this card for the StampTV Release Party Challenge - Singing the Blues.

It is a fairly quick and easy card. I stamped the butterfly and sentiment from the Gina K. Designs Birthday Blessings stamp set in Stampin' Up! Baja Breeze ink onto a piece of Gina K. Designs layering weight white cardstock. I sponged the edges with the same ink. I layered a piece of patterned paper from the Gina K. Designs Delicate Essentials pack and placed a piece of Gina K. Designs Ocean Mist 3/8" ribbon over the join. I placed the whole layer on a card base of Gina K. Designs Ocean Mist.

Love always

Today I have a Valentine's card that I am entering in the StampTV MIUM challenge - Handmade Embellishment and the Mod Squad challenge - Love is in the Air.

I started with a piece of red cardstock, stamped all over with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then stamped the heart and the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock, embossed them in red and sponged the edges of the cardstock.

I matted the red layer with white, which I sponged with red on the edges. I then attached this to a red card base.

I popped up the white layer and added my handmade embellishment, three quilled hearts.

I used the following products:

Gina K. Designs stamp sets: Square Pegs, Fabulous Frame
Ink: Versamark, ColorBox Scarlet
Embossing powder: Recollections Clear, Ruby
Cardstock, foam squares and quilling paper from my stash

Just Because card

Today I have a card that I made for three challenges: Mod Squad Challenge Blog - Ombre Technique;  StampTV MIUM - Just Because!; and StampTV Kit Addicts - Brick Wall.

I started with a piece of ivory cardstock and sponged 4 colours of brown to create the ombre effect. Then I scored the brick wall pattern and went over the score lines with a white pen to make them stand out slightly.

I  inked the flowers and leaves and stamped them. I coloured in the smaller flowers with a marker. I got a PixScan for Christmas so I tried it out and cut out the images with my Cameo. I realized after I had the card finished that I should have cut out the middle of the images!

I didn't have a 'just because' type of sentiment, so I wrote the sentiment with my Silhouette sketch pen and trimmed it to a rectangle. I matted the sentiment, attached a piece of ribbon and attached the sentiment. I matted the brick layer and attached the whole thing to an ivory card base.

I used the following products:

Gina K. Designs stamps: Love and Prayers; Birthday Blessings
Ink: Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake; Memento Rich Cocoa; ColorBox Chalk Chestnut Roan, ColorBox                   Pigment Brown, Orange and Green
Markers: Staedtler Fineliner: Orange, Yellow; Silhouette sketch pen: White, Brown

For You card

Today I have a card that I am entering in two challenges: StampTV weekly challenge-Emboss is Boss and Mod Squad Challenge-One Die Cut. My card has embossing and die cuts.

I decided to do a gate fold card with a die cut shape for the center piece. The side panels are embossed and then I went over the raised parts with an ink pad to highlight them. I added a piece of ribbon at the bottom of each panel before attaching them. The sentiment was taken from a longer sentiment and punched out. I sponged the two pink layers with the same purple ink that I used to stamp the sentiment and highlight the embossing.

I used the following products:

Gina K. Designs A Gift for You stamp duo
Sizzix Stampin' Up! dies: Bigz Lattice;  Framelets Window frame Collection
WeR Memory Keepers embossing folder
ColorBox Pigment ink: Purple
Martha Stewart 1" punch
cardstock and ribbon from my stash
