Penguin Palace Challenge #39

My Penguin Palace order arrived today, so I had to play with my new goodies, and decided to make a card for this month's challenge. I am getting in just under the wire as it closes in a few hours!

This month, the challenge is a Color Palette Inspiration.

I used the Diamonds Geo Stencils 360° set and inked up the first stencil with Gina K. Designs Ocean Mist, Turquoise Sea and Tranquil Teal ink. Then I used Wild Lilac ink with the second stencil, lining it up with the pattern that I had made.

The sentiment, stamped with Soft Stone ink, comes from the Birthday Wishes stamp set, and cut out with the coordinating die.

For the background layer, I inked the edge of the cardstock with the Soft Stone ink pad so it would match. Then I attached everything to a white card base and added some bling to finish it off.

July Scor-Pal Project

This month, I have a card called Pockets and More Pockets. It uses a single piece of cardstock and is folded to make two pockets on the front and one on the inside of the card.

Supplies:
5 1/2" x 12" piece of cardstock for the card base
Eyelets, ribbon

Decorations and embellishments (I used Gina K. Designs Layered Carnation, Layered Daisies and Pop Art Flowers stamp sets and dies for the flowers and leaves, and My Favorite Things Vanity License Plate stamp set for the numbers. Gina K. Designs inks were used - Light, Medium and Dark Carnation,  Light, Medium and Dark Orchid, Wild Lilac, Plum Punch and Wild Dandelion, Green Grass, Jelly Bean Green and Fresh Asparagus)

Step 1.
Place the cardstock in your Scor-Pal with the 12" side at the top and the right side facing up. Score at 4 1/2" and 7 7/8". Turn the cardstock over, top to bottom, with the wrong side facing up, and score at 6 1/2", 10" and 11". We turn the cardstock over because we always want to fold away from the score line.

Step 2.
Starting from the end, fold the 11” and then the 10” score lines to create a continuous fold, not an accordion fold. This forms a 1” border.

Step 3.

Attach your eyelets at either end of the border, thread a piece of ribbon through and make a knot. I just put the eyelets through the border, but you can also attach it to the piece of cardstock directly behind it.

Step 4.

Crease all the score lines, and attach Scor-Tape as shown in the next two pictures. In the first picture there are two sets of strips. The first set is a little hard to see, it's up by the eyelets. The second is two sections away. In the second picture there is only one set, and it is easy to see.

Step 5.

Remove the backing from the Scor-Tape and adhere the cardstock together, forming two pockets on the front of the card and one inside.

Step 6.

Add decorations and embellishments as desired. I started with the number in the middle and then tried out the placement of the flowers and leaves before taping them in place. I added a piece of washi tape near the bottom of the card. You could also use a piece of ribbon or twine, or some patterned paper.

Here is the inside of the card.
