Reverse stencilling

Reverse stencilling gives a different look, because instead of using different colour inks through the stencil, you make a background with the coloured inks and then use black ink through the stencil.

To make my background, I used Rina K.'s Electro pop ink - Raging Red, Hello Yellow, Blaring Blue and Potent Purple, and rubbed the ink pads directly on the cardstock. By overlapping the inks, I made orange, green and indigo. Then I inked through the Harvest flourish stencil with Obsidian Amalgam ink.

I added the Happy die cut with its shadow, and the Birthday, from The Best Flowers stamp set. I attached them to a piece cut with the Decorative Label die. All of this was adhered to a white card base.

All of the products are from Gina K. Designs.

April Scor-Pal More than One Score

It's the beginning of another month, so it's time for another Scor-Pal More than One Score project! Since Easter is quickly approaching, I decided to make an Easter card.

It is similar to a bridge fold, but it has a large image instead of a strip to hold the two sides together. Here is the inside, along with a matching envelope.

To make this card, you will need:
Cardstock - 1 piece - 5 1/2" x 5 3/4"
                    1 piece - 2 3/4" x 11"
                    2 pieces - 3/4" x 5 1/2"
Items to decorate - I used the Lily Bouquet Picket Fence Studios stamp set for the lilies, the Jesus Paid it All Sweet n Sassy stamp set for the sentiments, Spectrum Noir markers to colour the lilies, and the Scor-Envi to help me make the envelope.

Starting with the 5 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of cardstock, with the 5 3/4" side at the top, score at 4 1/4" and 5". Rotate the cardstock 180 degrees and repeat the score lines. Since there are both Mountain and Valley folds, turn the cardstock over, and repeat all 4 score lines. This makes it easier to make the folds. From one edge, make a mountain fold, then a valley fold. Repeat on the other side. If you want to decorate this piece, now is the time to do it.

Stamp a large image, colour it and cut it out. Place the two strips of cardstock so that the edges are 4 1/4" apart. I taped the strips to my Scor-Buddy Mini Mat which made it easy to tape the lilies to the strips. Make sure that the tape doesn't go over the edges of the strips, or it will stick to the back of the card. If you want your card to fit in a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" envelope, make sure that the image fits between the edges of the strips. Then, tape the two strips to the sides of the scored piece.

With the 11" side at the top, score the other large piece of cardstock at 5 1/2", and fold.

Tape this piece to the back of the other piece.

The card will fold flat, so you can fit it in an envelope.

Since my lilies extend past the edges of the card, I had to make my own envelope. I used the Scor-Envi to help me make a 5 1/2" square envelope, which was the perfect size. I stamped the lily stamp on the flap of the envelope, so it matched the card.
