Rainbow Feathers

I have another card for the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge - Adding Texture. To add texture, I heat embossed the leaves and used two layers on the outlines.

My MISTI came in handy to make the rainbow colours on the leaves, as I could add one colour at a time. Once I added all the colours, I could stamp the feathers again with VersaMark ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.

I die cut the feather outlines twice, once with white cardstock and once with gold foil cardstock. Then I glued them together before adding them to my card.

I used the following Gina K. Designs products:
Fancy Feathers stamp set and coordinating dies

Cherry Red, Tangerine Twist, Wild Dandelion, Lucky Clover, Blue Raspberry, Wild Lilac ink
Obsidian Amalgam ink
VersaMark ink
Layered Daisies stamp set (for the sentiment)

Obsidian Amalgam ink

August Scor-Pal More Than One Score

It's the beginning of another month, which means it's time for another Score-Pal More Than One Score challenge. I have made a storage drawer, with an easel top.

To make this project, you will need:

Cardstock:
2 pieces - 6" x 4"
6" x 8"  - scored on the long side at 2" and 4"
7 1/2" x 10 1/2" - scored on the long side at 1/2", 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 8", 9" and 10"
                            scored on the short side at 1", 2", 5 1/2" and 6 1/2"
7 7/8" x 8 1/8" - scored on the long side at 3 1/2" and 4 5/8"
scored on the short side at 1 1/8" and 6 3/4"

Patterned paper, embellishments to decorate. I used the following supplies from Gina K. Designs:
Petite Flourish background stamp
Flowers and leaves - Layered Daisies stamp set and dies
Sentiment - Stained Glass Flowers stamp set
                   Label Borders Foil-Mates
                   Decorative Label Set die
                  Wild Lilac Fancy Foil
Ink - Applemint, Lucky Clover, Wild Lilac, Plum Punch, Light Carnation, Medium Carnation, Dark                Carnation, Wild Dandelion

Fold along all the score lines and crease well.

Using the picture below, on the 7 1/2" x 10 1/2" piece, cut away the corners, and cut in from the sides along the score lines to make the tabs. Place Scor-Tape on the back of the tabs, fold in and attach to the sides.

Your drawer will look like this. Add Scor-Tape on the upper parts of each side, and the upper two sections of each end. Remove the tape backing and fold in the two sides. Remove the lower backing of each end and fold in. Then remove the final piece and stick it to the bottom of the drawer.

For the base, use the 7 7/8" x 8 1/8" piece, and cut in from the sides along the score lines to make two tabs. Remove the backing and attach the tab to the outside of one of the sides.

Add Scor-Tape along the sides and the fold down the top and attach.

Your two pieces will look like this.

I used a background stamp to make my own patterned paper, and then decorated with some flowers and leaves. I added a piece to the front of my drawer and then attached a button for a pull knob.

Tape one of the 4" x 6" pieces on the bottom of the base. The larger section  of the 6" x 8" piece will be taped on the top of the base. You can decorate it before you tape it on.

Fold the cardstock down, and tape the other 4" x 6" piece on the small front section. Again, you can decorate it before you tape it on. I also decorated the sides of the base.

The drawer is big enough to fit a 3" x 5" pad of Post-It Notes and a pen.

Here is a larger picture showing the foil around the sentiment. It's always so hard to photograph foil!

I hope I explained this well. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments. You can make these to give as gifts, and adjust the embellishments to suit the occasion.
