Black, White, and a Touch of Pink

I like to have a few sympathy cards on hand and realized that I was getting low, so I decided to make this CAS card.

I used the Butterfly Spray Card cut file, #127757 in the Silhouette Design Store, and cut it out of a piece of white cardstock. I lined the back of the front of the card with a piece of black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment, from the Love and Prayers stamp set from Gina K. designs, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. To finish it off, I added a pink bow for my touch of colour.

Coloured Vellum

The current challenge at Mod Squad Challenge is Color Your Vellum - we need to have vellum that we have coloured as our focal image. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge - Easter/Spring Inspiration, and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Easter Inspired. Both of these challenges have a beautiful set of photos for inspiration. I chose the flower and colours for my inspiration.

I stamped the flower on the vellum with a pale lavender ink and heat embossed it in clear. I coloured it with alcohol markers and then stamped and embossed the sentiment.

I had a piece of silver sequins foil that I had used to foil a background (I had used a foilable image sheet from the Sending Love StampTV kit), and decided to attach it to a piece of pink cardstock with an adhesive sheet. I should have just left the top covering on the foil, but I removed it which left sticky spots where the tiny heart flowers were from the original foiling. I used some fine glitter to cover these spots. You can see the tiny flowers under the vellum as they are hard to see in the picture in the foil.

I folded the top and bottom of the vellum over the foiled piece, attached this to a pink layer and adhered this to a white card base.

St. Patrick's Day card

I needed to make a St. Patrick's Day card so I decided to make it for the StampTV Monthly Mix Challenge - Black and White with a Twist.

I started by stamping the green shamrock in the middle of the card front. I then stamped the black shamrocks all over the rest of the card front. I added Stickles to the green shamrock and set it aside to dry.

I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a stitched circle die. I cut out the scalloped circle, layered it behind the sentiment and added Stickles to the scalloped circle layer. I set this aside to dry, as well.

When everything was dry, I added the sentiment with a foam square and added the bow with a mini Glue Dot.

I used these supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Square Pegs stamp set
                             Grass Green ink and cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Crystal Stickles
Cottage Cutz Stitched Circle die
Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles Large die
Mini Glue Dot
white cardstock, ribbon from my stash

Black and White with a Twist

I made this card for the StampTV Monthly Mix challenge - Black and White with a Twist. We need to add a pop of colour and a bow to our black and white project. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

I began by stamping the background images with VersaMark ink on a piece of black cardstock. I heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

I stamped the lighthouse in black and embossed it with clear powder. I coloured in the stripes and top part of the lighthouse to give the pop of colour. I matted this in red and adhered it to the background panel which was then added to a white card base. I didn't plan my background images well so I offset the focal image to show more of the background. I added the bow with some foam squares.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs By the Sea stamp set
VersaMark ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Spectrum Noir: Alcohol Marker CR11
                         Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock
black cardstock, foam squares, ribbon, white and clear embossing powder from my stash
