Sweet birthday card

I made a birthday card for the StampTV MIUM challenge - Coffee, Tea, Sweets, Oh My! I decided to make a birthday card with a cupcake and a cup of coffee.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and used my alcohol inks to create a background. I stamped the images and sentiments, coloured the coffee and cup and added a little bit of colour to the cupcake frosting. I cut them out and sponged the edges. I die cut the oval mat and punched out the circle mats.

I matted the background and adhered this to a white card base.  I layered the images and sentiment onto the mats and then attached them to the background with some foam squares. I coloured some clear rhinestones with an alcohol marker and attached them onto the card front.

I used the following products:

Shaker card

I made a card this week for the StampTV MIUM challenge Shake, Shake, Shake, where we had to make a shaker card.

I started with a piece of white cardstock, picked out the die that I was going to use to cut out the shaker window and traced around the outside of it so I knew where to place my images. I stamped and masked my images and coloured the scene with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I cut out the window in the top layer and the acetate layer then used two dies together to cut the border out of cardstock and two borders out of fun foam.

I glued the acetate window to the back of the top layer, added the two fun foam borders, put in the sequins and beads, and added the coloured layer. I added the white cardstock border to the front and tied some gold thread at the bottom. I attached the top layer to a white card base.

Materials used:
Gina K. Designs: Sending Love and Art From The Heart stamp sets.
                             Turquoise Sea cardstock
Spectrum Noir: Ultra Smooth Premium white cardstock
                         Alcohol markers: TB6, BT8, GT2, GT3, TN2, TN6, BGR2

Scored Peek A Boo card

This week I made a card for 3 challenges: Mod Squad Blog challenge - Peek A BooStampTV MIUM - Scoring and Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge - Summer Garden.

For the Peek a Boo part, I decided to have a fence. Through the fence you can see the flowers which is my take on the Summer Garden. If you look closely you can see the scoring on the top of the card, which sets off the sentiment.

I die cut the fence out of black cardstock and also out of the white card base. I carefully glued the fence in place by running a glue pen along the outside and fitting it into the open space in the card base.

I stamped the sentiment and butterflies and scored above and below this. I added some lines on the diagonal to make it more interesting.

I stamped the flowers on the inside so they would show through the fence. I used some water based markers to lightly colour the stamp and then once it was stamped, I went over it with some alcohol markers to make it darker.

I used the following products:

Gina K. Designs: Fabulous Frame and Happy Birthday to You stamp sets
                             Wild Lilac ink
                             White and Black cardstock
