White, Black and Kraft

I have a few birthdays coming up in September, so I thought I would cross one off the list with this card. I am entering it in the StampTV challenge to use only the colours white, black and kraft, and the PopUp challenge on "the daily marker".

The pop up challenge was all about lines so I started by stamping the triangle border several times with parallel lines. I didn't have any Kraft paper so I used the cardboard sleeve from my coffee cup and cut some rectangular pieces. I chose a sentiment that was in a long line and matted it and the border lines with black. I thought it was still missing something so I used some chipboard brackets and coloured them black.

Gate Fold Card

There are a few birthdays coming up that I need to make cards for so I thought I would use one for a challenge. On the Mod Squad Challenge Blog we are asked to make a gate fold card. Here is what I came up with.

I started with a piece of white cardstock, scored and folded it and stamped the flowers and leaves on the front. I cut the two scalloped ovals and stamped the focal image. I stamped the sentiment and sponged the edges of all the white layers. I attached the focal image with tape, matted the sentiment and attached it with some foam squares.

I thought the card front needed something so I matted the whole card with some green cardstock.

Supplies:

Gina K Designs: Green Grass cardstock, Love and Prayers and Birthday Blessings stamp sets
Ink: VersaMagic Chalk ink - Spring Pansy, Aloe Vera
