August Scor-Pal project

This month, I made a 4 Step Card for a baby shower.

Supplies used:
Cardstock: 2 pieces  5" x 10" (I used 80 pound for the inside layer and 100 pound for the outside)
Patterned paper: 1 piece  4 7/8" square
                           1 piece  5" x 10"
Embellishments, stamps, etc. to decorate (I used Gina K. Designs A Gift for You stamp set for the sentiment, Holiday Frame Fillers for the bear, Lots of Letters 2 for the letters and frames, Applemint ink; Spectrum Noir alcohol markers; Fiskars Teeny Tiny stamp set for the small inside images; and Kate & Co. My Mind's Eye patterned paper)

Step 1:
For the inside layer, use a lighter cardstock to make it easier to work with. You will be scoring and marking on the back of the cardstock. Referring to the template below, make the following scores and lines. It looks like a lot of instructions, but it took me longer to type it out than it did for me to do it!

With the 10" side at the top of your Scor-Pal, score at 6 1/4".
Place your Scor-Mat in your Scor-Pal. On the left hand side of the cardstock, draw horizontal pencil lines 1 1/4", 2 1/2" and 3 3/4" from the top.
On the 1 1/4" line, make a mark at 3 1/4", 4 1/2" and 5".
On the 2 1/2" line, make a mark at 2 3/4", 4" and 4 1/2".
On the 3 1/4" line, make a mark at 2 1/4", 3 1/2" and 4".

Using a craft knife and a straight edge, cut along the 1 1/4" line from 3 1/4" to 5".
Cut along the 2 1/2" line from 2 3/4" to 4 1/2".
Cut along the 3 1/4" line from 2 1/4" to 4"

Remove the Scor-Mat, and score as follows:
From the top of the cardstock, score at 3 3/4" and 5" down to the 1 1/4" line.
Between the 1 1/4" line and the 2 1/2" line, score at 3 1/4" and 4 1/2".
Between the 2 1/2" line and the 3 3/4" line, score at 2 3/4" and 4".
From the 3 3/4" line to the bottom, score at 2 1/4" and 3 1/2".

Step 2:
Fold along the score lines, making mountain folds at the 2 1/4", 2 3/4", 3 1/4", 3 3/4" and 6 1/4" lines, and valley folds at the 3 1/2", 4", 4 1/2" and 5" line.

Step 3:
For the outer layer, score at 5", and fold.

Step 4:
To cut the patterned paper, use the same method as step 1, and mark on the back. Trim 1/16" off each side of the score lines to make the correct shapes. Because of the stamps I used for the word BABY, my squares are slightly bigger.

Step 5:
Add Scor-Tape to the back of the patterned paper and attach it to the inner layer.

Step 6:
Add Scor-Tape to the back of the outer sections of the inner layer, as shown below.

Step 7:
Attach the inner layer to the outer layer, one side at a time.

Step 8:
Attach the square piece of patterned paper to the front of the card, and decorate as you wish.
