Thank You Card

This is a card I made for two challenges: StampTV MIUM challenge - Thank You and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

Back in November, I made a tag that had the tree boughs and pine cones so I decided to make a card that was similar.

I started with a white card base, stamped and embossed the sentiment and masked off the sentiment. I stamped the tree boughs, stamping off sometimes to get a different look, and added the pine cones. Once the ink had dried thoroughly, I put a thin strip of glue along the top of some of the branches parts of the pine cones and added some flocking powder. I let this dry before adding the bow.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Massive Messages, Seasonal Sentiments Stamp sets
Fresh Asparagus, Warm Cocoa, Charcoal Brown ink
                            White Heavy base weight cardstock
Inkadinkado masking paper
Mini Glue Dot
Clear embossing powder, Snow flocking powder, ribbon from my stash

Inspiration Everywhere

This is a card I made for the StampTV challenge - Inspiration Everywhere. We had a photo of a box of chocolates, which had a very pretty design, and we drew our inspiration from that.

This is what I came up with:

I used the snowflakes, the gold ribbon and the colours red, white and gold. I also used part of a coffee cup which had a snowflake theme. I cut out a circle from the cup and inked up the edge slightly. I stamped the sentiment, punched it out with a scalloped circle punch and then punched a slightly larger circle out of red. I layered these together and set them aside.

I stamped snowflakes with red ink all over a white card base. I embossed some with clear embossing powder and left the rest plain. Then I stamped a few with VersaMark ink and embossed them in gold. I attached the sentiment layers and added a bow with a Glue Dot.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Christmas Joy, Seasonal Sentiments and Snow Frame Stamp sets
                             Red Velvet ink
                             Red Velvet and White cardstock
VersaMark ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Mini Glue Dot
clear and gold embossing powder, 2” circle punch, 1 3/4” scalloped circle punch, ribbon, coffee cup from my stash

Non-traditional Colours

This week for the StampTV MIUM challenge we are to use non-traditional colours. It didn't have to be a Christmas card but I decided to make one since I already had my stamps out.

This is a clean and simple card as I didn't have much time to make it. I was having a hard time coming up with a design and then I remembered the pink artificial trees that you sometimes see. I  stamped the tree boughs in pink and added a bright blue ornament. I thought the sentiment was appropriate so I stamped it and added a few rhinestones for some sparkle.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Merry & Bright and Seasonal Sentiments Stamp sets
Passionate Pink and Blue Lagoon ink
                            White Heavy Base Weight cardstock
rhinestones from my stash

Snowflake background

I made this card for two challenges: StampTV MIUM - Create your own Patterned Paper, and ModSquad Challenge - What a Flake (have a snowflake on your project).

I thought it would be easy to combine these two challenges by making patterned paper with snowflakes. I randomly stamped the snowflakes on a piece of white cardstock with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them in white. Then I sponged over the cardstock with two shades of blue ink and rubbed over the snowflakes with a dry tissue to remove any ink that might be there.

I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes on blue cardstock and heat embossed them in white. I used my PixScan mat and my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the sentiment, leaving a small border. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the snowflakes.

I matted the background before attaching it to a white card base and popped up the snowflakes with some foam squares. When I was putting the card together, I wasn't quite happy with it and my husband suggested that the sentiment could be in colour. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to colour over the white sentiment before using foam squares to attach it.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Seasonal Sentiments Stamp set and matching dies
                            White and Blue Denim cardstock
Powder Blue and Blue Denim ink
VersaMark ink
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers: BP2, PL2
Silhouette Cameo and PixScan mat
white embossing powder, foam squares from my stash

Christmas Inspiration Challenge

We were given a Christmas inspiration photo this week for the StampTV MIUM challenge

I decided to use the gold, white and turquoise colours and the poinsettias. This is what I ended up with.

I loved the sparkle of the lights on the tree, so I foiled one of the Foil-Mates with gold foil
for my background. I stamped and die cut the poinsettias, and stamped and embossed the sentiment. I used a square die but cut out a rectangle by only cutting part of the die, turning it around, moving the die and partially cutting again. I used the same technique to cut a mat for the sentiment.

I wrapped a piece of sheer ribbon around the background and attached it to a turquoise card base. I added the matted sentiment and popped up the poinsettias with some foam squares.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Merry & Bright stamp set and coordinating dies
                            Christmas Joy stamp set
                            Turquoise Sea cardstock and ink
                            Swirls & Flourishes Foil-Mates
Cottage Cutz Stitched Square die set
VersaMark ink
gold foil, gold embossing powder, ribbon, foam squares and white cardstock from my stash
