Flowered card

The theological student that we had at our church this year is being ordained tonight, so I made this card for her. I am entering it in the StampTV MIUM challenge - Be Flowerful.

I started with two pieces of 6" x 12" white cardstock. I scored them at 6" and cut from the top of the score line to the bottom corner on both pieces. I adhered the 6" squares together to make the back of the card. The two fronts criss-cross to make a pocket.

I foiled a piece of the Petite Patterns patterned paper with gold foil. This patterned paper is made with toner so the foil will stick to the pattern. You can see the gold just above the sentiment. I cut the paper and matted it before attaching it to the two fronts of the card and the part of the back that shows through. I used some strong tape to attach the bottom of the front pieces.

Here you can see the pull out piece. I die cut the top to give it a nice shape.

I stamped the flowers and leaves, coloured them with alcohol markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I stamped the sentiment, cut it out and matted it. I attached the sentiment, and then the flowers and leaves, popping up the two on the left.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Dazzling Dahlia stamp set and coordinating dies
                             Sending Love stamp set

Offset Swirls

I decided to make another offset card for the StampTV MIUM challenge - Offset is Awesome. This time I decided to use swirls.

I started with a piece of white cardstock, stamped the two large swirls in the corners and cut them out with the matching die. I stamped the smaller swirls in blue to make the background and then thought it would look good if I stamped over the swirls with some copper ink that I have. I offset the copper to give a different look. Also, that meant I didn't have to stamp perfectly on top!

I stamped the sentiment and rounded the ends. I attached a piece of ribbon to the background and adhered it to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" blue card base. I popped up the sentiment and the offset large swirls with some foam squares.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Dazzling Dahlia stamp set and matching die
                             Especially for You stamp set
                             Blue Lagoon cardstock and ink

Offset card

I needed to make a Father's Day card this week so I decided to make an offset card for the StampTV MIUM challenge: Offset is Awesome.

Jennifer McGuire did a striped background using strips of cardstock so I went to my scrap bin and pulled out some masculine colours. I cut them into strips, keeping them approximately the same width. I decided on the pattern and stuck them to a piece of cardstock that I had covered with adhesive. I matted this and adhered it to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card base.

I stamped the plants on a white piece of cardstock and cut them out with the matching die. I stamped the sentiment, added a strip of cardstock along the top and bottom of the cardstock and attached it to the base. After colouring the plants with alcohol markers, I popped them up with some foam squares and offset them.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Your Own Kind of Beautiful stamp set and matching die
                             Fabulous Holiday Fillers stamp set
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Spectrum Noir: Smooth Premium White cardstock
                           Alcohol markers: TN3, TN5, TN7, OR1, OR2, CT2, CG1, CG2, DG2, DG3
Sookwang tape
scrap cardstock, foam squares from my stash

Color My World

This card was made for three challenges: StampTV MIUM - Let the Music Move You (We had to pick a song and use it for inspiration); StampTV Kit Addicts - Water Color; and Mod Squad - Spark It Up (We had to have some sparkle on our card).

The song I chose for my inspiration was Color My World by Chicago. The sentiment is a perfect match and I chose to do a watercolour background with rainbow colours.

I used a piece of watercolour paper and covered it with water. I used an acetate stamping block as my palette and inked it up with ink pads. Most of them were ink cubes so that made it really easy. I started with red at the bottom and worked my way up to purple. Once the background was completely dry, I stamped the balloons and used a Wink of Stella pen to give them lots of sparkle.

I stamped the sentiment using my homemade stamp positioner. I inked up the first part with red and stamped it. Then I inked up the next part of the sentiment with orange and stamped it. I continued until I had the whole sentiment stamped, using the same colours that I had used for the background. Using the stamp positioner made sure that it stamped in the same place every time. I cleaned the stamp and used VersaMark to stamp over the sentiment, added some glitter embossing powder and heat set it. I used a square punch to flag the ends of the sentiment strip.

I used a piece of black cardstock to mat the background and then attached it to a white card base. I used some foam squares to pop up the sentiment.

Materials used:
Gina K. Designs: Art From the Heart, Happy Birthday to You stamp sets

Another Black and White Card

I decided to make another card for the StampTV MIUM challenge - Black and White. I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

This is another quick and easy card. I punched the border of a piece of black cardstock and attached it to a white card base. I stamped the flowers on a piece of white cardstock and scored three lines, leaving room for the sentiment and the purple rhinestones. I adhered this to the black panel and the card was done.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs: Love and Prayers stamp set
VersaFine Onyx Black ink
Martha Stewart Garden Trellis punch
white and black cardstock, bling from my stash

Black and White

This week's MIUM challenge on StampTV is to make a black and white card. We can have a bit of colour in ribbon or bling. I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

I decided to do a sympathy card and came up with this quick, clean and simple card.

I stamped the images and sentiment, matted it with black and attached it to a white card base. I added some pink hearts for a bit of sparkle.

I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Sending Love stamp set
VersaFine Onyx Black ink
Black and white cardstock, bling from my stash
