This month, the
StampTV Kit Addicts challenge is to use watercolour on our card. For the
StampTV MIUM challenge we have to use the emboss resist technique. I decided to combine the two challenges in one card. I am also entering it in the
Mod Squad Challenge - The Great Outdoors.
I stamped the butterfly image on watercolour paper with VersaMark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I brushed water over the entire piece of paper and added the blue and green background colours. Then I wet the butterflies and used Prickly Pear to colour them. After everything dried, I found that they didn't stand out as much as I wanted, so I went over them with Lipstick. Once that was dry, I used Clear Wink of Stella on the butterflies to give them sparkle. I matted the card front with black and attached it to a white card base.
I stamped the sentiment, used a circle punch to punch it out and matted it with a black circle that I cut out with the Creative Memories cutting system. I popped it up with foam squares and attached it to the card front.
I used the following supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Made With Love stamp set
Blue Lagoon, Grass Green, Prickly Pear, Lipstick ink
White and Black cardstock
Hilroy watercolour paper
VersaMark ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Recollections: Clear embossing powder
2" punch
